Rehabilitation support services in earthquake effected districts in Nepal

This project intends to meet the rehabilitation needs in order to avoid persons with injuries suffering from severe complications after the April 2015 earthquake in Nepal and regain function. The persons with injuries include those suffering from fractures, spinal cord injuries, and amputation among others. Key activities include: - 14 district level training to health and rehabilitation professionals on injury management; -Training and mobilization of social workers in case management in 7 health facilities/step down facilities; -Support to 7 health facilities to develop PT/rehab units; -Operational review of injury data including a cross sectional study on estimation of connected care; -Harmonization of assessment, referral forms and trauma care pathways; -Revision of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) trainings at national level; -Continuous professional development for rehabilitation professionals; -Sharing on district approach demonstration for MoHP; and -Management support to DRFU/MoHP.
