Update of the UNESCO Policy on Engaging with Indigenous Peoples
The UNESCO Policy on Engaging with Indigenous Peoples was developed in 2017 (202 EX/9) and acknowledged by the 202nd session of the Executive Board (202 EX/Decision 9). Member States have requested its update (219 EX/Decision 5.I.C and 221 EX/ Decision 11). LINKS, in collaboration with all programme sectors, are now taking an intersectoral action on this request and planning consultations with Indigenous Peoples, Member States and other relevant stakeholders.
