With a DGGF Start-up Loan Coseco B.V. will be able to offer together with the local subsidiary a payment system in public buses in Nepal.Coseco B.V. is a provider of cloud-based solutions for the mass transaction markets, such as public transport, local government ID cards and smart city initiatives in South and Southeast Asian markets.Coseco has partnered with nCloud Pvt. Ltd. and is exploring the possibilities of facing some serious challenges (e.g. onsafe and corruption) of public transport in and around the Kathmandu Metropolitan Area in Nepal by installing the ticketing-as-a-service model. nCloud Pvt. Ltd. is a Nepalese IT company specializing in mobile payment solutions in the transaction and acceptance process.In the ticket-as-a-service model, Coseco supplies the hardware and software needed for Automated Fare Collection (AFC) in buses and rents the equipment to nCloud. nCloud installs the equipment in the buses, deploys ticket staff and collects fares, which are paid to the bus owner after deduction of service costs. The project will create around 1,770 new jobs in two years, improve passenger safety in public transport and improve the efficiency of public transport in the Kathmandu Metropolitan Area.
