The project reduces child poverty and the use of child labor. It increases the number of children regularly attending school and improves child well-being in Sindhupalchowk and Kavre Districts. Children below 18 years of age constitute 42 % of the total po pulation of Nepal and more than a third of Nepalese children live below the national poverty line. Many of them suffer from severe malnutrition. Around 10 % of children do not have access to schooling and about 40 % of children between 5-17 years of age ar e working. The project improves access to social protection schemes by children and poor households. As a result of this project, children’s nutritional status improves and an increasing number of them attend school. The beneficiaries of this project are the most vulnerable children and their families. The project is implemented by Save the Children Nepal, Tuki Sangh Sunkoshi (Sindhupalchowk) and Nangshal Association Nepal (Kavre).
