The Australian Civilian Corps (ACC) is a whole of government initiative that deploys civilian specialists to countries experiencing or emerging from natural disaster or conflict, specifically to support stabilisation, recovery and development training. Funding under this initiative supports the deployment of three ACC elections specialists to provide surge capacity to the United Nations Development Programmes, Electoral Support Project in Nepal for up to six months. They will support election operations and voter education, to boost the prospects for a participatory, credible election. The total value of this initiative is $0.3 million to be expensed during the 2013-14 financial year.
