Indigenous and Local Knowledge for Environmental Resilience

This element supports Indigenous and local knowledge (ILK) actors that contribute to environmental resilience by including ILK into policy processes, knowledge production, assessments and solutions addressing climate and environmental challenges. It promotes collaboration across knowledge systems, strengthens governance and Human Rights-based approaches, and enhances the capacity of ILK holders and partners to engage effectively at international, regional and thematic levels, in line with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and UNESCO Policy on Engaging with Indigenous Peoples.
