Gender-based and Domestic Violence Prevention and Response Programme (GDV Programme)
Domestic and gender based violence (D/GBV) is widely prevalent in Nepal because of the dominance of patriarchal values, lack of awareness about rights, lack of support services and poor implementation of laws. Based on consultations with communities, the line ministry, the police and other donors, SDC will focus on working with civil society organizations and government agencies on awareness, prevention, legal aid and psychosocial support; and on strengthening duty bearers at district and national level, including policy implementation and reform.
