Anticipatory action to reduce the impact of floods on vulnerable women and girls through provision of essential SRH and GBV services (EAST)

The main objective of this project is to provide life-saving sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence assistance to vulnerable communities in Sunsari and Saptari in anticipation of monsoon flooding. This UNFPA project: distributes dignity kits and reproductive health kits; provides conditional cash transfers to facilitate access to emergency obstetrics and gender-based violence services; and deploys volunteers to promote sexual and reproductive health services and gender-based violence services. The gender-based violence component of the project provides life-saving assistance to 5,947 people, including 5,132 women and 815 children, and 119 persons with disabilities. The sexual and reproductive health component provides life-saving assistance to 4,002 people, including 3,454 women and 548 children, and 80 persons with disabilities.
