Ensuring girls’ WASH rights through MHM Promotion

WaterAid has supported 91,450 schoolchildren and teachers gain access to inclusive WASH services enhancing gender equality in 185 schools in Nepal and Pakistan. Women and Girls at school and 14,891 members of the community have been empowered to manage menstruation hygienically and with dignity. This included improved WASH facilities, raised awareness, affordable supply chains for sanitary materials and increased institutional accountability. WaterAid has worked with the Governments of Nepal and Pakistan to strengthen WASH facilities in schools and to help equip them to facilitate confident menstrual hygiene management.
