F.a: Skills training and Technical Education for Employment Programme

There is a huge gap between the demand and supply of skilled man power in domestic market. The lack of employment opportunities, insufficient vocational skills training opportunities are pushing unemployed youths for out-migration. They get low remuneratio n and are prone to accidents as they are mostly engaged in Danger, Difficult and Dirty (3D) jobs. Therefore, these unemployed rural youths need to be trained on emerging trades to sharpen their skills for their earnings and livelihoods. This will contribut e to increased remunerations and job security. New opportunities have been waiting for the skilled youths within their own districts, regional markets, Indian markets as well as abroad markets.The project aims at enhancing access of women and youths to qua lity vocational skill training and technical education by strengthening technical vocational education and training (TVET) sub-sector in Nepal. Expected results:• Enhanced access of women and youths to quality TVET service• TVET sub–sector knowledge and experiences are systematically documented and widely disseminated among the concerned• Strengthened capacity of public and private TVET service providers to deliver quality serviceRights-holders /beneficiaries: Unemployed women and youth Implementing partner: Underprivileged Children’s Education Programs (UCEP Nepal)
