Sahakarya - Building Self-Reliant Communities - II
Sahakarya aims to improve socio-economic condition of selected communities by promoting equitable and representative community-based organizations (CBOs) capable of managing local resources and interacting with locally elected bodies and government agencies. The goal of the project is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in the hilly regions of Nepal by strengthening community-based organizations (CBOs) through economic and social development. The project is being implemented in the Mid and Far Western Districts: Jumla, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Surkhet, and Dailekh, focusing on market-oriented agricultural production. The Canadian Executing Agency is the Centre for Studies and International Cooperation (CECI) and the Social Welfare Council (SWC) is the Nepalese government counterpart.
