WorldPop works to ensure that every person is mapped and counted in decision making. WorldPop is an applied research and implementation group based at the University of Southampton and develops open, academically peer-reviewed methods for mapping populations at high spatial resolution across the globe. Since 2013, they have partnered with governments, UN agencies and donors to construct more than 45,000 demographic datasets, complementing traditional population sources with dynamic, high-resolution data from satellites and cellphones for mapping human population distributions.

The geoBoundaries Global Database of Political Administrative Boundaries Database is an online, open license resource of boundaries (i.e., state, county) for every country in the world. We currently track approximately 1 million boundaries within over 200 entities, including all 195 UN member states. All boundaries are available to view or download in common file formats, including shapefiles; we seek to represent countries as they would represent themselves in the case of conflicted boundaries.

The world is really poorly addressed. This is costly & annoying in some developed countries, but around the world it hampers the growth and development of nations, ultimately costing lives. what3words is a unique combination of 3 words that identifies a 3mx3m square. Anywhere on the planet. It's far more accurate than a postal address and it's much easier to remember, use ∓ share than a set of GPS co-ordinates. It's a tiny piece of code that works across platforms & devices, in multiple languages. It works offline, where there is no data connection and it works with voice recognition.
