Integrity Action

This 12-month project will empower young people with disabilities in Sindhupalchowk and the Kathmandu valley in Nepal to demand accountability in their communities and make a major contribution to ensuring that public services and infrastructure projects in Nepal are fully inclusive.

- 10 enabled and capable Civil Society Organisations in DRC, Afghanistan, Kenya, OT Palestine and Nepal are leading on embedding education sector anti-corruption and transparency measures directly benefiting 10,500 youth - 10,500 engaged and supported 14-19 years old youth monitors are active agents of positive change championing anti-corruption and transparency learning and youth monitoring - Encouraged secondary schools embedded Integrity Clubs to ensure long-term sustainability of anti-corruption and transparency efforts in education - Exemplified success attracts wider support and demand for anti-corruption and transparency measures in education

Objectives of this grant include to ensure the inclusive participation of community members in post-earthquake reconstruction works, and that funds allocated for reconstruction are used with integrity to assist the reconstruction projects.

The aim of this grant is to strengthen the capacity of existing monitors, to engage students in integrity practice by forming Integrity Clubs and to monitor 51 reconstruction projects. As in the past, CAHURAST will also engage students in monitoring the Scholarship Fund, as well as maintain Help Desks in 6 districts.

Thanks to Integrity Action\'s support Youth Initiative is piloting a project in 5 earthquake affected districts. The project aims at making sure that the needs and concerns of the victims of earthquakes are understood and heard, the information on relief reaches the community effectively, humanitarian agencies are made accountable, and the community is empowered to monitor activities of those agencies to ensure that what has been agreed is being delivered in an effective way by closing the loop.

The major development objectives in this initiative is to improve the effectiveness of development funds in 6 districts in Nepal through scaling up of the monitoring work using the Community Integrity Building approach. Further, project aims to collaborate with Integrity Partners by sharing our experiences and using their expertise in our activities (training, monitoring, National level meeting/workshop).;

Intermediate Result(s): • Critical mass of skilled youth to monitor the development projects of their community. • Increased evidence based youth advocacy for accountability and transparency. • Improved implementation status of development projects. ;
