GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Government of Nepal Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Department of Roads Nepal COUNTRY: NEPAL Project:- Strategic Road Connectivity & Trade Improvement Project (SRCTIP) Sector: Transport GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Credit No.: 6673-NP… Project ID No. P170409 The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Department of Roads has applied for financing in the amount of US$ 450 million equivalent from the World Bank, International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Strategic Road Connectivity & Trade Improvement Project (SRCTIP) (P170409) , and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Nepal . The project will include the following components; Regional Road Connectivity: - Improvement/Upgrading of existing Nagdhunga-Naubise-Mugling Road and Kamala-Dhalkebar-Pathalaiya Road. Institutional Strengthening : - To improve the capacity for management of the strategic road network in Nepal, with focus on road safety, road asset management, training and support to the periodic maintenance of Core Road Network (CRN). Trade Facilitation: - Related with augmentation of physical infrastructure, equipment, inspection and related border transit management systems Following procurements using open- international market approach is anticipated under the project: Consulting Services: (1) Consulting services for Construction Supervision of Improvement/ Widening of 95 km of Nagdhunga- Naubise- Mugling Road and Bridges; (2) Consulting Services for Detailed engineering design of Upgradation to 4-lanes of Kamala- Dhalkebar- Pathlaiya Section (130 km) of Mahendra Highway and associated bridges and ESIA Study of same road section in separate package. Works: (1) Improvement of Nagdhunga - Naubise - Mugling Road and Bridges- 95.66 km- 3 contracts; (2) Upgradation of Kamala- Dhalkebar- Pathlaiya Section (130 km) of Mahendra Highway to 4 to 6 lanes and construction of associated Bridges - 5 to 6 contracts (to be determined after detailed design) Prequalification of suppliers and contractors will be required for the following contracts: Improvement of Nagdhunga – Naubise- Mugling Road and Bridges [CH: 0+000 Km to CH: 12+260 Km, Tribhuban Highway]; Improvement of Nagdhunga- Naubise - Mugling Road and Bridges [CH: 0+000 Km to CH: 43+540 Km, Prithvi Highway] Improvement of Nagdhunga- Naubise - Mugling Road and Bridges [CH: 43+540 Km to CH: 82+403 Km, Prithivi Highway] Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, July 2016, revised August 2018 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations. Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s open- international market procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and in National Newspaper.
