GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE COUNTRY : Nepal Name of Project : Rural Water Supplyand Sanitation Improvement Project Sector(s) : Water Supply andSanitation GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Project ID No.: P143036 The Government of Nepal has applied for financing in the amount of US$ 65 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Porject, and it intends to apply part ofthe proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Governmentof Nepal. The project will include the following components: i) Improvement Access to Water Supply and Promote Hygiene Practices; ii) Develop and Implement Long-Term Sustainable Support Mechanism at the District Level;iii) Technical Assistance/Capacity Building and Project Management; and iv) Emergency response in case of natural major disaster Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (January, 2011), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consultingservices will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (January, 2011). Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the WorldBank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UNDevelopment Business and dgMarket and in local newspapers.
