The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Department of Roads has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Strategic Road Connectivity & Trade Improvement Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for Upgrading/Construction of following Works: SRCTIP-DOR-W-KDB-ICB-4 (Lot 1, 2 and 3): Upgrading of Mahendra Highway : Kamala -Dhalkebar- Bagmati Road Section and bridges (Km 238+030 to km 312+785) divided in 3 Road Sections as listed below in different 3 Lots. The Department of Roads, Development Cooperation Implementation Division, Strategic Road Connectivity & Trade Improvement Project Strategic Road Connectivity & Trade Improvement Project now invites sealed Bids from the eligible bidders for the above contracts. The bidders are allowed to obtained bidding documents and bid for any one lot or combinations of lots as they prefer. However, eligibility and qualification of the bidders shall be assessed in accordance with the Qualification and Evaluation Criteria as detailed in Bidding Document. The works mainly consists in two phase: Phase 1 Upgrading Works: (Upgrading of existing road from 2-Lanes to 4 Lanes and Service Lanes, Structures, Bridges, etc. including Defect Notification Period) Phase 2: Performance Based Maintenance Works (Maintenance works consisting of all activities to be carried out to achieve and keep the road assets as defined in the PBM Specifications) 3. Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers- Fifth Edition September 2023” (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations. 4.
