Government of Nepal Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Department of Roads Babarmahal, Kathmandu, Nepal Road Safety SupportProject (P149606) GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE The Department of Roads, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has applied for financing from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of about US$ 7.47 Million equivalent toward the cost of the Road Safety Support Project (P149606) and it intends to apply the proceeds of this grant to payments for goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services to be procured under this project. . The project will include the following components: 1. Supply and installation of Steel W-Beam Crash Barrier on 700 km of roads on the Strategic Road Network (SRN) 2. Civil works for small scale road safety pilot interventions 3. Consultancy assignments for formulation, amendment of legislation, regulation, awareness and skill development with regard to road safety Procurement of works contracts financed by the Bank will be conducted through the procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Worksand Non-Consulting Services Under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grantsby World Bank Borrowers, January 2011 (Revised July 2014) , and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. The procurements for Supply and installation and civil works contracts are planned to commence by February 2015. Consulting services will be procured in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selectio n and Employment of Consultants Under IBRD Loans and IDA Credit & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011 (Revised July 2014). Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value consultants' contracts will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and in national newspapers. Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive an invitation to prequalify/bid under ICB procedures, and interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of the advertisement requesting expressions of interest for large-value consultants' contracts, or those requiring additional information, should contact the address below.
