NEPAL Sustainable Tourism Enhancement in Nepal’s Protected Areas (STENPA) Project ID : P165130 The Ministry Forests and Environment / Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has received financing in the amount of US$ 70 Million equivalent from the World Bank towards the cost of the Nepal : Sustainable Tourism Enhancement in Nepal’s Protected Areas (STENPA), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments of works, goods, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be financed by the IDA. The project will include the following components: Improving Destination Management, Planning and Coordination Enhancing destination management and planning Integrating NBT into national tourism policies and services Enhancing Access Infrastructure, Environmental Management and Tourism Facilities for Diversification Enhancing tourism infrastructure for accessing PAs Upgrading environmental management and tourism-related infrastructure Upgrading Tourism-related Products and Economic Opportunities for Local Communities Enhancing the quality and access to markets of tourism services and products Promoting livelihood opportunities for local communities in tourism and related value chains Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation Overall project management and monitoring Management of DoT’s specific project activities List of the identified Consultants services to be procured under International Market Approach procedures are provided as follows: Develop comprehensive tourism management plan for selected destinations through participatory discussion on Destination Vision Investment Plan (DVIP) and Develop DVIP for Rara and Suklaphanta National Parks. Develop a comprehensive tourism development plan for selected provinces. Technical readiness (DPR, maintenance plan, bidding documents and ESMP) of identified investments in selected project destinations (road, trail, bridges, information centers, camping sites, helipads, park entrance etc.). Assessment for business process reengineering of NTNC. Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank Procurement Regulations for IFP Borrowers: Procurement in Investment Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the regulations. The borrower may use their national procurement approaches accepted by The World Bank. Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business, External website& Project Procurement App of the World Bank and dgMarket as well as widely circulated national daily of Nepal would be used, if any activities with international approach are identified and planned in the project.
