REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL) NEPAL Power Sector Reform and Sustainable Hydropower Development Project (PSRSHDP) Loan No./Credit No./ Grant No.:5728-NP Assignment Title : Seismologist as a member of Panel of Experts to provide independent technical review for the consultancy of Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Bidding Documents for Construction of Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project and Ikhuwa Khola Hydropower Project Reference No .: PSRSHDP/ NEA/S/IND-12 The Government of Nepal has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Power Sector Reform and Sustainable Hydropower Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. The consulting services (“the Services”) include providing independent technical review of the reports and deliverables of the Design Consultant with intermittent input spanning within 33 months. The Seismologist , shall assign the job as detail information in the TOR attached. The Expert shall be a member of the Dam Safety Panel of Experts (DSPOE). The Nepal Electricity Authority, an implementing agency of the Client, now invites eligible “Consultants” to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide up to date CV with information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The broad shortlisting criteria are as follows: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent and preferably has Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering /geo technical/geology/soil science/seismology. At least 20 years of professional experiences with adequate experience of seismological investigation, studies and design in as part of detailed engineering design of large hydropower projects with remarkable high dams. The experience in seismological investigation and studies of hydropower project in Himalayan Region will be an added advantage. The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers , January 2011 revised July 2014 (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant’s Selection method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
