(Pilot Project for Climate Resilience - PPCR) Project ID No. P127508 REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI) FROM INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANTS (First Date of Publication: November 06, 2018) The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has applied for financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Building Resilience to Climate-Related Hazards Project and intends to apply a portion of the financing to eligible payments under this contract for individual consulting services. The Project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology to meet Nepal’s need for timely and accurate weather, climate and water related information and alert services. The main objective of hiring Project Technical Coordinator-1, Procurement Consultant-1, Financial Management Specialist-1, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist-1, Environmental Safeguard Specialist-1, Social and Communication Specialist-1, Engineers-1 and Project Secretary-1 are to support Project Management Unit based in the Kathmandu, central office. The project invites Expression of Interest (EOI) with detailed curriculum vitae from interested and experienced individuals. The individual consultant is required to assist the PMU in the implementation of the project in their respective areas of expertise and provide support to the Project Implementation Units and district level offices. The individual will be selected and engaged on the basis of his qualification for the assignment in accordance with the Guidelines on The Use of Consultants by World Bank and its Borrowers, November 2011. Based on the qualifications, first ranked Individual will be invited for negotiation. Contract ID No. and Position Qualification Requirements Person-months 1 PPCR/DHM/S/IND-81 Project Technical Coordinator-1 Minimum of Master degree in Natural Science/Engineering/Applied Science with at least 30 days Management related training(s) or minimum Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science/Engineering/Applied Science and a Master’s Degree in Management/Public Administration. At least 10 years of combined working experience in technical and managerial positions. Experience in project management and or administration preferably more than 3 years as a Project Manager/Coordinator/Lead role in project implementation. Working experience with bi-lateral and multi-lateral development agencies will be given priority. Experience on planning, monitoring and evaluation of community based projects will be an added advantage. Work experience with climate related project will be preferable. Experience managing donor-funded projects and GoN experience will have additional advantage Excellent in both English and Nepali - writing and speaking and excellent computer skills.
