Government of Nepal Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board (Nepal-India Regional Trade and Transport Project) Kupondole, Lalitpur (Request for Expression of Interest for Individual Consultant) Environmental Specialist Consultant (National) First Date of Publication: 23rdMay2019 Nepal-India Regional Trade and Transport Project (NIRTTP) (Credit No.: 5273-NP, Grant No.: H863-NP) is a priority Project of Government of Nepal financed by World Bank/IDA. Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies (MoICS)is executing Agency of this projectand this project is implementing by various agencies including Nepal Intermodal Transport development Board (NITDB)whichislead implementing agency for component C:strengthen Trade-related institutional capacity in Nepal. Now, Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board is seeking qualified and motivated Individual Consultant for the service to be provided as Environmental Specialist Consultant(NIRTTP/PCO/NITDB/S/IND-80) whose service is mainly required for (i) The construction of Kathmandu ICD at Chovar(ii) Implementation of ESMP for slope protection work in NM Road (iii) Implementation of ESMP for the bridges construction along NM Road and (iv) Implementation of ESMP for the SPS lab construction. The details of the Terms of References (TOR) can be obtained from the website: www.nitdb.gov.np. The expected starting date of assignment is18 June 2019. Key Qualification & Experience required for Environmental Specialist Consultant: Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science/ Environmental management/ Environmental Assessment/ Forestry or related field with at least 7 years of experience in the related field and specific experience as environmental officer/environmental engineer / environmental specialist in at least three similar infrastructure works; OR at least Bachelor's DegreeCivil/Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science/ Environmental management/ Environmental Assessment/ Forestry or related field with at least 10 years of experience in the related field and specific experience as environmental officer/environmental engineer / environmental specialist in at least five similar infrastructure works; Good knowledge of EIA/IEE. Good Knowledge of Health & Safety Good command in IT application such as MS-office and other basic computer skills; Experience in World Bank or other development partner-funded projects is preferable; Good presentation, interpersonal and communication skills; Excellent knowledge of English, Nepali/local languages.
