Government of Nepal Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Nepal Livestock Sector Innovation Project Hariharbhawan, Lalitpur REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (First Publication date: August 3, 2022) Credit No .: 6149-NP Assignment Title : Procurement of consultant for Performance Pedigree Recording System and Data Management and Operation/Breeding Expert (Individual Consultant) Reference No .: NP-MOLD-300412-CS-INDV The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), Government of Nepal (GoN) has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Nepal Livestock Sector Innovation Project (NLSIP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for services of the consultant for performance pedigree recording system and data management and operation /Breeding Expert (Individual Consultant). Objective of the assignment: The objective of the assignment is to offer Technical Support to the Project in all areas of Pedigree Performance Recording Scheme, in designing, establishing and managing the database system for Jersey and Holstein breed of cattle, Murrah of buffalo and Boer goats for the selection of superior animals of those breeds in a sustainable modality and also to offer consultancy services for genetic improvement, selection of breeding stocks following breeding principles and the multiplication of breeding stocks for distribution in regular production programs. Required qualification and experience: At least a Master’s degree in Animal Production and Breeding Systems, Genetics or equivalent. A minimum of 10 years of work experience in the sector of livestock development, at least 5 years of professional experience in PPRS in different species of animals. The Consultant is expected to provide 9 person months input over the project period. NLSIP invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants are requested to provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (Signed CV, description of similar assignments, and experience in similar conditions). A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Banks' Consultant Selection Guidelines adopting Individual Consultant Selection Procedure, January 2011 (Revised July, 2014).
