Selection of an International Consultant to Support Establishment and Operation of Vehicle Fitness Testing Center in Nepal
Government of Nepal Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Department of Transport Management Nepal India Regional Trade and Transport Project Sub-project office Request for Expressions of Interest (First Publication Date: 21 August, 2018) Credit No.: 5273-NP Grant No.: H863-NP Individual Consultant to support “Establishment and Operation of Vehicle Fitness Testing Center (VFTC) in Nepal” " ( NIRTTP/PCO/DOTM/S/IND-54) Department of Transport Management, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (DoTM), Government of Nepal (GON) has received financing from the International Development Association (IDA), towards the cost of Nepal-India Regional Trade and Transport Project (NIRTTP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Consulting Services to support “Establishment and Operation of VFTC in Nepal” . The scope of the consulting services is to conduct study on the requirements and modalities for the establishment and operation of vehicle fitness testing centers in Nepal. The service requires international inputs and is expected to be completed withinfour weeks. The scope of consulting services mainly includes: To review of existing vehicle inspection and testing practice and legal instrument in Nepal, To recommend the suitable alternatives for the establishment and operation of VFTC in Nepal. NIRTTP, Sub Project Office, at Department of Transport Management, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport now invites international consultant (individual) to express their interest in providing the above mentioned services. Key Qualifications: Master’s level in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering and or related subject At least 15 years of experience in the related field. Specific experience of five years or 5 assignments in the field of vehicle fitness testing and other vehicle fleet inspection and management are required. Particular experience working as international/ regional level Consultant in establishing and operationalizing VFTC is preferred. Interested experts must provide information demonstrating that they are qualified to perform the required services i.e. qualifications, description of similar assignments, experiences in similar conditions. Consultant expert will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank borrowers, January 2011(revised on July 2014).Expressions of interest must be delivered by e-mail to the address below no later than 4th September , 2018.
