(Pilot Program for Climate Resilience - PPCR) Project ID No. P127508 REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI) FROM INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT -Advertisement:- 19th January 2019 The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has applied for financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Building Resilience to Climate-Related Hazards Project and intends to apply a portion of the financing to eligible payments under this contract for individual consulting services. The Project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology to meet Nepal’s need for timely and accurate weather, climate and water related information and alert services. The main objective of hiring Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster -1 is for the conducting training course to cover ICAO and WMO requirements in Kathmandu, Nepal. The project invites Expression of Interest (EOI) with detailed curriculum vitae from interested and experienced individuals. The individual consultant is required as a training expert to conduct the training organized by DHM, BRCH project. The individual will be selected and engaged on the basis of his qualification for the assignment in accordance with the Guidelines on The Use of Consultants by World Bank and its Borrowers, November 2011. Based on the qualifications, first ranked Individual will be invited for negotiation. Qualification, experience and person-months inputs are given below: Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster Trainer-1 (Contract ID:PPCR/DHM/S/IND-48-2): The trainer on Aeronautical Weather Forecasting should have studies relevant to training. Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or in Physics/Atmospheric sciences/Meteorology/Mathematics would be an advantage. - At least 5 years of experience in operational aviation weather services, particularly as a aviation weather forecaster or observer or as a trainer on aviation weather forecasting or observation. More years of experience is considered as advantage. Person-months input is 25 days. At least 5 references in organizing and giving training courses on aeronautical meteorology that comply with the WMO and ICAO requirements. More references are considered as an advantage. - Co-operation skills, as well as a flexible, innovative and solution oriented approach to work, customer-orientated mentality, cost awareness and ability to use ICT tools. - Strong command with English language. The IC must include the detailed signed CVs including proposed position, membership in professional associations, related trainings, employment records with the name of employing organization, name of the project, location of the work, time period, position held, details of works carried out and value of the project involved. The EOI along with detailed CV must be delivered to the address given below not later than the working hours on or before February 18, 2019 and 12:00 noon. Opening date of EOI are 1:00 pm respectively on the above mentioned submission date. If the last date of submission happens to be holiday, the next working day will be the last date for submission.
