Non-Tarrif Measures Expert, Full time (National)
Assignment title: Non-Tariff Measures Expert Reference Numbers: NIRTTP/PCO/S/IND-2 Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, Government of Nepal has received assistance from the IDA towards the cost of Nepal-India Regional Trade and Transport Project (NIRTTP) and intends to apply portion of this assistance to eligible payments for the consulting services. The objective of theassignment for the Non-Tariff Measures Adviser (NTMA) is to support the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MOCS) through the Project Coordination Office (PCO) in;(a) identifying and classifying regulatory non-tariff measures imposed by the importing countries for the selected Nepalese goods (b) mapping of the non-tariff measures adopted by Nepal in terms of its imports and exports, (c) systematically recoding the NTMs and the updating the data on electronic database system through various official sources; (d) preparation of all information in a reader-friendly format for dissemination to traders and officials through web-page and other means; and (d) provide evidence based suggestions to rationalize those measures in a less trade restrictive manner in line with the spirit of the bilateral, regional and multilateral trade agreements. NIRTTP Project Office, Bhadrakali, Kathmandu now invites eligible Individual Consultants to express their interest in providing the above mentioned services. Interested Individual Consultants are required to provide information demonstrating that they are qualified to perform the services i.e. Resumecontaining Qualifications and Experiences suitable for simillar assignments. The Evaluation will be carried out based on the following criteria: General Educational Qualifications; Specific work experiences Regional Experience and Language skills An Individual expert will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank borrowers, January 2011 for Selection of Individual Consultant method.
