REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES– FIRMS SELECTION) COUNTRY: NEPAL NAME OF PROJECT: Kali Gandaki A Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project (KGAHPPRP) Loan/Credit/Grant No.: IDA/5246-NP/H506-NP P132289 Assignment Title: Consulting Services for Dam Safety, Civil, Electro-Mechanical Works and Capacity Building Kali Gandaki A Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project (KGAHPPRP ) Reference No . NEA/ KGAHPPRP/S/QCBS-1 The Nepal Electricity Authority, Ministry of Energy, Government of Nepal has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Kali Gandaki A Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project (KGAHPPRP ) , and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. The consulting services ("the Services") include preparation of detailed design, specifications, cost estimates, bill of quantities, bidding documents and assist in the procurement process and capacity building of NEA and supervision of construction and installation works of Kali Gandaki 'A' Hydropower Rehabilitation Project (KGAHPPRP ) consisting of Dam Safety, Civil, Electro-Mechanical Works, Automation & Control and Capacity Building as the major components. The consultancy is expected to last for three years. The Terms of Reference (TOR) along with the sample EOI can be downloaded at www.nea.org.np The Nepal Electricity Authority, now invites eligible consulting firms ("Consultants") to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have therequired qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short listing criteria are: eligibility requirement, management competence, technical qualifications and geographical experiences. The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011 ("Consultant Guidelines"), setting forth the World Bank's policy on conflict of interest. Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality-and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
