INVESTMENT BOARD NEPAL REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – Individual Consultant) (Published Date: March 4, 2015) Country: Nepal Name ofthe Project: Kabeli A Hydro Electric Project Credit No : IDA53380 , Grant No .: H900-NP Assignment Title: Project Review Panel for Upper Karnali Hydropower Project The Investment Board Nepalhas received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Kabeli A Hydro Electric Project, IBN Component, and intends to apply partof the proceeds for consulting services. The consulting services ("the Services") include · Engineering Geology and Geotechnical Engineer for Upper Karnali Hydropower Project ( Contract ID No . KAHP/IBN/S/IND-9 ) : The services of the Consultant willbe owing a joint duty of care to the Government of Nepal and GMR Upper Karnali Hydropower Limited and Karnali Transmission Company Private Ltd. ("the Parties"). The consultant shall have a wide and specializedexperience in engineering geology and geotechnical engineering for the Project. The Project is 900 MW hydropower project located in the Surkhet, Achham and Dailekh District of Nepal. The Consultant will advise the Parties on all aspects of the Project as provided in the Terms of Reference (ToR ) . The Services shall commence from the date of the appointment of the Consultant up to Generation Company Financial Close, which is estimated to be on or before 19 September 2016 (approx. 25 person days of input). · General Hydropower Engineer for Upper Karnali HydropowerProject (Contract ID No. KAHP/IBN/S/IND-1.10). The services ofthe Consultant will be owing a joint duty of care to the Government of Nepal and GMR Upper Karnali Hydropower Limited and Karnali Transmission Company Private Ltd. ("the Parties"). The consultant shall have a wide and specialized experience in engineering geology and geotechnical engineering for the Project. The project is 900 MW hydropower project located in the Surkhet, Achham and Dailekh District of Nepal. The Consultant will advise the Parties on all aspects of the Project as provided in the Terms of Reference (ToR ). The Services shall commence from the date of the appointment of the Consultant up to Generation Company Financial Close, which is estimated to be on or before 19 September 2016 (approx. 35 person days of input). The Investment Board Nepal now invites eligible Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above mentioned Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The Engineering Geology and Geotechnical Engineer Consultant should have, the following qualifications: · Should have a Master degree in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent. · Should have minimum 30 years of experience in the field of Geology and Geotechnical Engineering associated with dams, hydroelectric projects and underground works. · Must have been associated with more than 25 Hydro Power Projects worldwide. And, The General Hydropower Engineer Consultant should have, the following qualification: · Should be a Civil Engineer by qualification with specialized experience inthe design and construction of hydropower projects. · Should have minimum 35 years of experience in the field of Hydro Power. · Must have been associated with more than 25 Hydro Power Projects worldwide. Short listing of the Consultants will be carried out according to the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers - January 2011, revised July 2014 ("Consultant Guidelines"). The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the Consultant Guidelines setting forth the World Bank's policy on conflict of interest.
