The scope of the consulting services is: · Baseline assessment of biodiversity, forestand water resources, and overall land use in the study area · Land use change anddeforestation trend analysis for road corridor development in Terai-Churia region. · Strategic-level options analysis of proposed Birgunj to Kathmandu trade corridor development alternatives. · Documentation of key environmental and social aspects warranting particular attention andfurther study under the detailed ESIAs and design studies for selected road improvement activities along the Birgunj-Hetauda-Narayanghat-Mugling-Kathmandu (B-H-N-M-K) alignment. · Development of manuals and resources for mainstreaming good practices in biodiversity and forest conservation and slope stability into detailed designs of road development and upgrading. Anticipated date for commencement of the services is August 2015 and the tentative duration of the assignment is about 10 months. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short listing criteria are: · Business Objective and Expertise of the Firm. · Corporate Capacity of the Firm (Annual Turnover, Financial Information for last 5 years) · General Work Experience of the Firm. · Work (including Road and Bridge works) experience of theConsulting Firm and its complexity, in Nepal and abroad. · Experience of the firm in required field of experience. · A list of personnel with qualification, experience and association with the Firm. · Adherence to the code of ethics and Government's anticorruption policy The attention of interested Consultants is drawn toparagraph 1.9 of the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, dated January 2011 ('Consultant Guidelines') setting forththe World Bank's policy on conflict of interest. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the (QCBS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines, Dated January 2011. It is intended that short listed consultants will be invited to submit their technical and financial proposal as per the Request for Proposal document to be issued to them. Consultant may associate to enhance their qualification. Consultant shall clearly state their association ifany whether in the form of joint venture or sub consultant in the Expression.
