Promoting gender-equitable and inclusive socio-economic living conditions for disadvantaged families in the districts of Dhading and Kanchapur, Nepal.
The project aims to strengthen 800 families - especially women and children from 27 villages in the districts of Kanchanpur and Dhading - socio-economically through inclusive and gender-equitable integration, pre-vention and employment measures, to be more effectively protected against poverty and marginalization and to be better pre-pared for natural disasters through inclusive disaster risk reduction management. The project perursues an gender-inclusive approach in the components of womens business start-ups, employment and labor market integration, capacity building at village, school and farmers association level by means of equal self-empowerment and networking, as well as water - sanitation and hygiene (WASH), child protection/ education, disaster risk reduction and advocacy.

USAID Inclusive Livelihoods - Central
USAID Inclusive Livelihoods Central activity is being implemented in Kathmandu and Dhading District in central Nepal. This is a three-year fixed amount milestone-based USAID activity, with 12 milestones (summarized below) to be achieved by the end of the project on October 31, 2025. The overall objective is the economic empowerment of people with disabilities in both rural and urban areas of central Nepal, through the mobilization of people with disabilities, livelihoods training and to promoting inclusive employment at the national level. The activitys inclusive livelihoods component aims to provide people with disabilities and their households with the mutual support, experience, skills, and capacity that will bring them greater economic independence and resilience. Ten women-led self-help groups (SHGs) will be established in each of Gokarneshwor (an urban/peri-urban municipality in Kathmandu) and Thakre Rural Municipality in Dhading District, bringing together at least 180 people with disabilities and family careers in each area, who will be supported to set up small enterprises for income generation and saving. Through the activitys training component in Kathmandu valley, 224 young people with disabilities, mostly women, will gain access to vocational training designed to meet both their learning needs and the requirements of employers. By completing their training courses and through mentoring and work-related learning, 224 young adults will have improved prospects for meaningful employment. The activitys advocacy component aims to celebrate and multiply inclusive employment practices, to promote enabling environments and help tackle the legal, regulatory, and cultural barriers that hold people with disabilities back from full participation in economic life. It will bring together a cross-disability coalition of OPDs and stakeholders, building on existing campaigns, and set standards for Inclusive Employers at the national level, pushing for implem

Strengthening and Expanding the Community Model of Mental Health Care in Nepal
Prevalence of mental health disorders is high in rural parts of Nepal and access to mental health services can be very limited due to challenges in awareness recognition and treatment options. The project aims to promote mental health and increase access t o mental health services in public health network within the districts of Lamjung and Dhading. Specific aims are to 1) promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma related to problems with mental health 2) increase accessibility and effectiveness of m ental health treatment in government health facilities and 3) empower community and people with mental disorders to advocate their rights and better access to treatment. The focus is on strengthening primary level outpatient treatment in line with WHO's re commendations and Nepal's National Mental Health Policy of 2017. The project implements a similar model that was previously adapted to Dang district. The model is based on strengthening already existing public health structures from health posts to special ized psychiatric hospitals by training health workers already publicly employed to recognize refer and treat mental health issues as well as raising citizens? awareness through workshops and advocacy. Local and district level mental health groups are estab lished to promote the rights of mentally ill people and enable citizens participation in decision making. Public health network is engaged in project activities and meetings to ensure continuity of mental health services after end of the project. Lastly me ntal health workshops are held for migrant workers in Kathmandu in collaboration with SASK. A qualitative study will be conducted to understand factors impacting migrant workers? mental health.

The project builds the capacity of the community through institution al/grassroots organisation and socio-political development, agriculture and livelihood improvement, and community infrastructure development. Gender inclusion, people with disability, environment, climate change and disaster risk reduction (DRR) component s are included as cross-cutting theme. The project is implemented in current working area of Gorkha, Dhading, Tanahu and Mugu in 2018 and then from 2019 the project will be implemented in new areas of the Gorkha, Tanahu and Dhading.

Empower Nepalese Women-Goats, Latrines, Cookstoves
This project empowers women in the remote Northern Dhading District of Nepal such that they can free themselves from situations of domestic violence as well as lead healthier, more educated lives. Through the donations of 4 goats per family, women will be able to sustain themselves and their families, economically. With economic viability they can then build latrines and cook stoves to reduce diarrhea and respiratory problems in their villages.
