Reporting to the Director General (DG) and working closely with the Director of Administration, Finance, and Operations (DAFO) and Senior Management Committee (SMC), the DDG is accountable for performance, quality, and delivery across ICIMOD’s climate and environment-related research-for-development portfolio, including practical solutions for green, resilient and inclusive mountain development. The role supports Board-level governance and assurance processes; collaborates with the DG and SMC on strategic change priorities to strengthen institutional effectiveness and future fitness; and supports the DG to ensure coherence across institution-wide planning and monitoring, partnerships and regional cooperation, business development and resource mobilisation, and communications and knowledge uptake. The role involves a combination of project support, social media and communications, basic monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and logistics. The position requires a commitment of at least three months, preferably longer; the start date is as soon as possible. Please note that the position is unpaid. Responsibilities: General Project & Logistical Support Assist with organizing workshops, trainings, focus group discussions, and public events Support logistical arrangements such as venue booking, material preparation, and participant coordination Help with note-taking, documentation, and follow-up after events Assist in basic finance/admin tasks like maintaining attendance records, filing, or procurement documentation Communications & Social Media Develop, plan, and implement content for PBI Nepal’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) Draft text and visual content for outreach, including newsletters, captions, and short campaign materials Attend field visits or events for photo/video content development as needed Support partner organizations’ social media presence via mentoring and technical assistance Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Assist with data collection, surveys, and basic analysis for project monitoring purposes Help track project outputs and outcomes for internal learning and donor reporting Support visual presentation of data (e.g., infographics, tables, charts) Organize and manage feedback forms and documentation from program activities Other Tasks Translate short documents between English and Nepali Support the Country Director and Country Coordinator with daily tasks and special assignments Adapt to new responsibilities as per evolving project needs Your Profile: Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Development Studies, Communications, Media, Social Sciences) Strong written and spoken English and Nepali language High motivation, flexibility, and intercultural sensitivity Digital literacy, including familiarity with Canva, Meta Suite, MS Office/Google tools, or M&E tools like Excel Interest in human rights, social justice, and peacebuilding Experience in communications, design, photography, or social media is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team We offer: A workplace in a centrally located office in Sanepa, Lalitpur Working in a small, friendly team with flexible working hours and possibility of remote work An exciting internship with exposure to international NGO operations and grassroots human rights work A certificate and reference letter upon successful completion About us: Peace Brigades International (PBI) is an international human rights organization with offices in the Americas, East Africa, South/Southeast Asia, and Europe.
