Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program

(Zimbabwe): USAID's Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP) provides technical assistance to the Ministy of Health and Child Care to improve the quality of maternal newborn and child health (MNCH) services delivered in Manicaland province. With FY 2015 funding, the project will continue to expand support from two to all seven districts in Manicaland province through implementation of the following activities: -Assist with formulation of national health policies, strategies, and programs that increase access to affordable, evidence-based, high impact MNCH interventions-Train and supervise health workers to improve skills in delivering quality services at health facilities and within communities-Strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations to implement MNCH activities and manage USG fundingAdditional funds from Presidential Malaria Initiative will enable MCHIP to provide training and supportive supervision to village health workers to strengthen malaria community case management.These results will contribute to reducing maternal and under-five mortality.
